I took Alex to Story Time at the Library today. Instead of the usual Mr. John reading books, they had a special event - Mother Goose was in one of the bigger rooms and it was a big production. Apparently we should have registered in advance, but fortunately they still had sufficient space for the people that didn't know about it.

So Mother Goose told some stories and had puppets and asked for a lot of volunteers from the audience to get dressed up and help act out nursery rhymes. Alex politely sat and watched the first few, but clearly wanted to participate since he started turning to me and asking, "My turn?" I encouraged him to hold up his hand, but by the time he'd put it up, she had inevitably already chosen someone else.

As luck would have it, he was the last kid picked and got to go up front for Twinkle Twinkle Little Star. I guess he was a little too overwhelmed to sing, but he stood there and waved his arms around and had a fine time.
